DOT ID NUMBER REQUIRED ON HRCP II CHASSIS TIRES - Tuesday, March 27, 2012

We are requiring the DOT number and date of manufacture to be listed on all OTR workorders and/ or invoices for HRCPII chassis- this is for the “off” as well as the “on” tire.  We have included a picture for your review below showing the information that is needed as well as a detailed description of what to look for.  We are asking that this workorder in conjunction with the casing receipt (issued by a VIM employee) accompany all invoices for tire reimbursement.

The DOT Identification is the first two digits of the DOT number and the last four numbers which show the week and year the tire was manufactured. The first two digits can have, a letter and number, two letters, or two numbers.  The last four digits will always be four numbers, unless the tire was produced before 2000, then it will be three numbers beginning with a 9.  The complete DOT number that we need is only printed on one side of the tire, while the other side will only have the first two digits and a few of other digits that are not needed.
