FMCSA Announces Delay to DVIR Reporting

 
The GIER has been accepted as an alternative to marking the chassis with the IEP number.

Effective November 1, 2009, all motor carriers will be required to return all casings for tires changed over the road to an HRCPII representative domiciled at one of the marine facilities.  This includes tire repairs performed by Interstar, Dorsey and Mid Atlantic.  Driver's must have the original chassis inspected at the time the tire casing is returned to ensure a proper repair was made.

In order for a bare chassis to be released out of APMT, motor carriers must log in to the APM website and enter a release code.
